Description
Pastors and others in healing ministry deal with broken, hurting people every day. Often we don't know how to help. We refer people to other professionals when perhaps we ourselves might be the ones who could best offer what people need. This training program will focus on:

  • Helping us reclaim our unique contribution as pastors and people of faith: the role of worship and ritual in the healing process, the therapeutic value of confession and forgiveness, the function of shepherding people to allow God to heal their pain, the practice of laying on of hands.

  • Theoretical background and practical skills.

  • A model of healing ministry which is both theologically and psychologically responsible

Description
There will be two new practicums beginning in the fall of 2008. One practicum will be held in Dingman's Ferry, PA, and the other one will be in Slippery Rock, PA. Open only to graduates of the GPC Foundational Course, these classes have a new format that involves much less travel and more opportunity to experience GPC in a slower, more contemplative way.

Meeting just three times in one year, four days at a time, participants will practice GPC with each other under supervision. There will be opportunity for expanding your own awareness of process, deepening your work with bodies, practicing dreamwork, creating personal liturgies, and learning some ways to be creative with experiments.
