Gestalt Pastoral Care

Gestalt Pastoral Care is an integration of Gestalt work,
spiritual companioning, and healing prayer.

We believe:

  • The healing ministry of Jesus is still continuing in the community of faith
  • Healing includes the whole person: spirit, body, and emotions
  • God wills our wholeness, and is actively involved in our growth

Our work is holistic and grounded in Christian healing prayer. In our retreats and training groups, we celebrate the exquisite interplay of emotional healing, spiritual growth, and their close relationship to physicality. We unabashedly combine Gestalt work with spiritual companioning and prayer for healing.

We seek to empower each person to discern God's particular invitation to wholeness. The process is respectful and non-coercive; participants are repeatedly encouraged to share only that which they choose. That said, participants often decide to explore their depths or invite the light of Christ to penetrate old pain.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is constantly inviting us to unique wholeness. Although we cannot predict just how God will work, we have faith that God's transforming love is offered as we open up to it.
